We highly recommend all applicants to start the process about 2 to 4 weeks ahead of the intended travel dates.
-Applicants must appear in person -unaccompanied-. No one may accompany a visa applicant to an interview unless the applicant is a minor incapable of communicating in any language spoken by the Consulate staff without the assistance of a certified interpreter, or in need of physical assistance.
-Valid Passport and a photocopy You must present a valid passport with a validity of a least six months beyond your intended period of stay in Guatemala.

-1 color photo -passport sized (2x2)
-Statement letter indicating reason for traveling, must include address in the USA and phone numbers. (If this a business travel, present a letter from the company indicating the purpose of the trip).

-Contact phone numbers of the person in Guatemala

In order to ensure that your passport and visa are not given to an unauthorized person, you must present a government-issued photo ID for identification when you collect your passport. If someone besides you pick up your passport, your representative - even in case of family members - must present Their own original government-issued photo ID for identification, a photocopy of your government-issued photo ID, a letter of authority, signed by you, authorizing your representative to collect your passport.The letter of authority must contain the following information: Your representative's full name as shown on their government-issued photo ID Your name.-
**If you hold an US GreenCard, then you can travel to Guatemala without the need of a Visa.
